Globe touts mobile app for Olympics videos

The London 2012 Olympics may be winding up but Globe Telecom is urging hardcore sports fans to catch the final remaining days of the games with Yoomob, a free mobile application that allows mobile users to subscribe to live streaming and Video-on-Demand (VOD) channels.

Available to Globe postpaid, prepaid, and TM subscribers who own Internet-enabled Android, Symbian, Pocket PC, and Java mobile devices, the Yoomob app is free for download and installation by texting YOOMOB to 2910.

Subscription to the Solar Sports Channel when viewing video content costs P5 a day, P25 a week or P55 a month.

While download of the Yoomob app is free of charge, standard mobile Internet rates of P5 for 15 minutes apply once user clicks and streams video content.

To maximize Olympic games viewing experience on mobile, users are urged register to Globe PowerSurf MB plans, a set of mobile Internet plans that give subscribers bulk MBs of mobile data, consumable per kilobyte.

Prepaid subscribers can choose from the following PowerSurf MB plans: 20MB for P15 valid for 1 day, 50MB for P30 also valid for 1 day, and 100MB for P50 valid for 3 days.

Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers looking for plans with higher MB allocation and longer validity can avail of the following 30-day PowerSurf MB variants: 50MB for only P99, 300 MB for only P299, and 1GB for only P499.
