Globe names new head of consumer sales

Ayala-owned mobile operator Globe Telecom has appointed Bernard Llamzon as the company’s new head for consumer sales, replacing Ramon Matriano who retired last July 31, 2012.

Last June, Llamzon was named officer-in-charge of the division after Matriano conveyed his interest to retire from the company.

Llamzon’s appointment is effective Aug. 15, 2012.

Prior to his promotion, Llamzon headed the GMA Luzon sales cluster at Globe.

Before coming to Globe, he also had stints as sales director at Philip Morris Thailand and as national sales manager at San Miguel Corporation.

A commerce graduate of De LaSalle University, Llamzon attended management programs at the Asian Institute of Management and INSEAD.

Under his new role, Llamzon is expected to provide strategic advice on the development of Globe’s short, medium, and long-term sales and distribution strategies for the consumer group.
