Signaling the start of a technology-enhanced and multi-sensory ?Diorama Experience?, Power Mac Center recently donated brand new units of iPod touch to the Ayala Museum to make its diorama exhibit of key Philippine history events more multi-dimensional.
The iPod Touch will replace the analog audio players that visitors used to play the diorama audio guides, providing more detailed narrations (available in both English and Filipino) of historical events and facts relating to each diorama.
This partnership makes Ayala Museum the first one in the country to integrate the gadget for educational purposes and bring the endearing dioramas into the digital age, providing a more engaging and revolutionary way of studying Philippine history.
From serving as hi-definition audio guides, the iPod touch will eventually be designed as full blown multimedia tours for the well-loved dioramas.
Conceptualized by National Artist for Historical Literature Carlos Quirino, Ayala Museum?s permanent collection of 60 handcrafted dioramas collectively dubbed ?The Diorama Experience? chronicle important milestones in the country?s past.
They likewise showcase the artisanship and creativity of the woodcarvers of Paete, Laguna who produced the dioramas.

In a ceremony recently held at the museum, Power Mac Center CEO Lawrence Sison and Ayala Museum senior director Mariles Gustilo signed the memorandum of agreement for the bequeathed Apple products.
Said Gustilo, ?Our partnership with Power Mac Center is in line with the museum?s efforts to spread awareness and appreciation of Philippine heritage.?
Gustilo further said that, aside from the dioramas, Power Mac Center and Ayala Museum also have plans to integrate the audio guide system into the other exhibits as well.
For his part, Sison said, ?History is an important resource to nation building, while multimedia-enhanced art provides an excellent way to educate people on lessons from the past. We at Power Mac Center thank Ayala Museum for giving us the opportunity to make history and art easier to understand and appreciate through the use of technology.?
