Seeking to exploit the breadth of its offerings, dominant carrier PLDT on Wednesday, July 31, rolled out its new Fibr service which now includes Cignal Digital TV, allowing subscribers to access definition (HD) TV at home using the dedicated Fibr connection.
Top company executives, led by PLDT president and CEO Napoleon Nazareno and PLDT Home business head Ariel Fermin, took part in the launch at the Buddha Bar in Kalayaan, Makati City.
“This latest innovation strengthens our Connected Home vision. Earlier this year, we launched Clickplay movies-on-demand and just this month, we also launched the all-new Dual Core Telpad. This new partnership with Cignal is proof of PLDT’s culture of innovation as we commit to provide Filipino families with only the best telecommunication and digital entertainment services,” said Fermin.
Fermin said that Fibr will further solidify PLDT’s market dominance as it works to reach its P38 billion core income target this year.
Cignal Digital TV offers a diverse range of 78 digital channels including 19 in high-definition like Colours HD, its own exclusive lifestyle channel, and other HD channels like Food Network HD, Fashion TV HD, Star World HD, HBO HD, NBA Premium HD, Nat Geo HD, and Cartoon Network HD, among others.
To avail of the package, Fibr subscribers need to upgrade to the triple play package which includes broadband, landline, and Cignal Digital TV.
Subscribers can connect up to three TV sets when they avail of the triple play package, the company said.
All Fibr plans are now powered by the new Fibr modem, a wireless router and modem in one. Fibr plans start at P3500 in speeds of up to 8Mbps and the Cignal Digital TV service comes free at higher plans.
Fibr is now available in over 600 subdivisions in key cities nationwide like Forbes Park, Dasmarinas Village, Ayala Alabang, Greenhills, Valle Verde, White Plains, and Greenmeadows in Metro Manila; Cebu Royale Estate and Beverly Hills in Cebu; and Don Lorenzo in Davao.
