Google Person Finder opened for ‘Yolanda’ victims

To help people find their loved ones in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda, tech giant Google has unveiled a Google Person Finder. Below are the pertinent details on the online initiative:

1. All data entered into Google Person Finder is available to the public and searchable and accessible by anyone. However, Google does not review or verify the accuracy of the data.

2. If users are interested in exporting records or performing automatic searches, they can do so by applying for a read or search API key. To learn more about API keys and various access levels, they can visit the Data API page.

3. There’s a CSV import as well.

Google said users can embed the Person Finder directly in their sites. There is a Person Finder widget, which is embeddable to any site or blog.
