Lenovo Philippines country manager Michael Ngan said the device?s high-end version — the 11-inch Miix 2 will be made available in the country by April for P47,990.

Running on the new 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom processor and Windows 8.1, the Miix 2 8-inch offers flexibility of usage with its three mode features ? the laptop, tablet, and stand.

?With Miix 2, users no longer have to decide between a laptop or a tablet in their purchase decision as its detachable design allows them to experience the best of both worlds,? Ngan said.

Portability wise, the 8-in Miix 2 is 0.31-in thin and weighing 0.77lbs. Among its entertainment features include its 8-in HD screen with multi-touch and IPS, WiFi, and optional 3G, and JBL surround speakers.

Storage is up to 64 GB of eMMC with a micro SD slot for adding up to 32 GB of music, movies, photos and other data. It also has 720p high resolution 2MP front and 5MP rear cameras.

Ngan said Miix 2 is part of Lenovo?s commitment to improve its product line-up in the PC Plus space but still continues to strengthen its PC business.

He said Lenovo is still the world?s top PC vendor and ranks third when it comes to PC Plus products such as smartphones, phablets, and tablets.

?We?re remaining steadfast with our strategy,? he said. ?The PC [volume] maybe sliding but we?ve been outgrowing the market for 19 quarters in a row.?

The executive said for 2014 alone, the global PC market remains to be big, estimated to be a $200-billion business.

?The PC Plus market is huge but only from a volume standpoint. The revenue standpoint, it?s not that huge yet,? Ngan said. ?The revenue generated from the tablet will take a while to replace the revenue of the PC.?
