“You’re blessed that your economy has been very strong,” Fuji Xerox printer channel president for Asia Pacific James Henderson told the attendees present during the event.

“We’ve taken to increasing our investment because we believe our technology is right for Philippine businesses and that the improving economy provides a good opportunity for some of these new technologies.”

Henderson also led the formal launch of the DocuCentre SC2020 at the Makati Shangri-La hotel in Makati City.

The device is the company’s first desktop color A3 multifunction printer designed for small-office-home-offices (SOHO), small-and medium-sized businesses (SMB), including users of monochrome products.

Michael Johnson, Fuji Xerox Printers? product planning and sourcing manager for the Asia Pacific and China region, said the SC2020 being a A3 color multifunction device has color print/copy speed of 20 pages per minute (ppm) with a compact size that is fit for SOHO and SMB offices.

Johnson said the device produces high-resolution prints at 1,200 x 2,400 dots per inch (dpi), creating smooth black lines and character outlines.

SC2020 utilizes a simple user interface displayed in its 4.3-inch color touch screen panel where users can perform various operations such as copying double-sided ID cards or removing paper jams, with step-by-step directions.

SC2020 also provides direct printing from iOS or Android mobile devices for those users who wish to print Web pages or photographs without having to print through a personal computer. The user can also export documents scanned by DocuCentre SC2020 to smart mobile devices via wireless local area network.

Henderson said the transition to color printing is happening a lot faster in the Philippines because the colored documents are more interesting and offer more value to users.
