Ready to wage a price war against China-made cheap Android smartphones, Asus Philippines launched on Thursday, July 17, its new Zenfone series smartphones at the Bonifacio Global City.
George Su, country manager of Asus Philippines, led the unveiling of the Zenfone 4, 5, and 6 models priced at P3,995, P6,495, and P11,995, respectively.
All three devices, with screen displays measuring four, five, and six inches are available in several colors and feature the ZenUI mobile interface and the PixelMaster camera technology.
The Zenfone series is powered by Intel Atom processors, joining the lineup of new Intel core-based smartphones.
The Zenfone 5 and 6 models feature Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screens for scratch resistance and durability, while Zenfone 4 has swappable back covers available in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue and Solar Yellow colors.
Su said the Asus ZenUI is an all-new, exclusive mobile user interface that features a new visual design which contains modern “flat” icons, vivid color themes, animations, new ring tones and notification sounds, and a neat layout.
The PixelMaster feature, meanwhile, is an exclusive Asus camera technology comprising a set of features including Selfie Mode and Depth of Field Mode. Also included are the Low-light Mode and Time Rewind features available on Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6. — Tom Noda
