DOST launches game dev?t contest for young programmers

The Philippine Science Heritage Center (PSHC) is inviting young Filipino game developers to join the first Salinlahi Evolution game development competition.

The PSHC is under the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), which is the advisory body of the Department of Science and Technology.

Salinlahi Evolution is a game development competition for young game enthusiasts and developers, ages 16-21 years old, who eager to show off their skills and release their tech-savvy juices to create the next best thing in the Philippine gaming industry.

The competition, which aims to help promote science and technology (S&T) among the general public especially the youth by coming up with digital learning platforms anchored on S&T, is open to individuals and teams composed of a maximum of four members.

Winning entries will receive P50,000 and a chance to be featured at the PSHC ? a repository of the achievements and contributions of the local scientific community, located at the Science Heritage Building, DOST Complex in Taguig City.

In addition, the top five entries will be presenting their games at the Salinlahi Evolution Conference in December.

Deadline of entries is on October 15, 2015.
