Chinese tech giant Lenovo has unveiled in the country its 5-inch Lenovo Vibe S1, a smartphone with two front cameras and a curved-glass back design.
The launch comes after local smartphone brand Starmobile introduced in the local market what it claimed is the first smartphone with dual-rear camera ? the Knight Spectra.
?In this day and age, smartphone users are more inclined to taking selfies. It has become one of the most popular types of photos as large amounts of selfies are taken and shared on social media every day. This is why Lenovo designed the Vibe S1,? said Dino Romano, country manager for smartphones at Lenovo Philippines.
The Lenovo Vibe S1 has an 8MP primary front camera and the 2MP secondary front camera that analyzes depth of field information to replicate human binocular vision. These two cameras work in tandem to unleash a myriad of new possibilities that can give selfies a creative twist.
After capturing that perfect selfie using the dual front camera, users can modify the picture from a number of built-in photo editing tools.
Functions such as ?Blur? allows refocusing anywhere on the selfie for up to three focal planes, while adding a ?bokeh? effect to the background will enhance and stylize a selfie or get rid of a photo bomber.
With the ?Cut Out? feature, people can be cropped out of a selfie and then placed on any other image or background from a wide selection preloaded on the Vibe S1.
Users may also download their desired backdrops from the Internet, such as the scenic Eifel Tower or the grand Taj Mahal, enabling users to take their photo subject across the globe and beyond.
Night or lowlight selfies are also possible, thanks to the Vibe S1?s front camera BSI sensor that improves the clarity and quality of after-dark selfies.
It also has the Vibe Xtension plug-in selfie flash that allows up to 100 picture-perfect selfies on a single charge, achieving a more natural color tonality in the selfies taken in low-light conditions.
The Vibe S1?s 13MP rear camera boasts of face-detection auto-focus that dramatically increases focusing speed along with a dual-color flash which optimizes color tones based on ambient lighting.
The Vibe S1 is crafted with a curved-glass rear panel made from the latest Gorilla Glass and the thin rounded metal frame that goes around the side. With its thin 7.8mm profile and weighing only 132g, it?s designed to snuggly fit in the palm of its user’s hand.
Powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Octa-Core processor and 3GB of RAM, the Vibe S1 is capable of breezing through any task. With 160GB of storage and up to 128GB of microSD external storage support, the Vibe S1 can easily accommodate around 40,000 photographs.
Selfies and photos can be viewed on a vivid 5.0? Full HD display and users can easily share all their photos stored on the Vibe S1 with preloaded Lenovo?s star SHAREit app.
On top of it all, the Lenovo Vibe S1 is capable of 4G LTE connectivity speeds and it also come preloaded with an Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system.
The Lenovo Vibe S1 will be locally available in two color options: white and gold. It will be available on the last week of November for P15,999, bundled with a free screen protector (worth P299) and a free back cover (worth P599).
Aside from the Vibe S1, Lenovo also unveiled in the country two new Vibe smartphone models equipped with exceptional battery life — the Vibe P1 and P1m.
With its long battery life, the new Vibe P1 and P1M feature a manual power saver switch to instantly extend battery life.
The new powerful Vibe smartphones also feature an OTG (On-The-Go) Charging function to charge other USB-connected devices, such as Bluetooth headsets and portable speakers.
The Vibe P1 comes with a 5000mAh battery, one of the highest-capacity batteries in its class. In addition, the Vibe P1 stands out with a 24W quick charge function that can rapidly charge the phone battery.
The Vibe P1 has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor so users can run multiple apps, surf the Web, and stream videos all at once.
To ensure speedy and uninterrupted surfing experience, the smartphone?s Wi-Fi Boost provides 5G Wi-Fi support for improved Wi-Fi speed and range.
The Vibe P1 can also be paired with a range of smart devices, from headsets to cameras and TVs, utilizing wireless NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology.
Meanwhile, an embedded fingerprint scanner on the home button supports black screen unlock and brings about greater convenience and security.
The Vibe P1 also offers Smart PA technology boosts audio output. It also features a sealed sound chamber for improved resonance and better bass for all sorts of multimedia needs.
It comes with a 13MP rear camera with fast-focus PDAF technology and a 5MP selfie camera with multiple shooting modes and beautification features.
Sporting a metal-and-glass design, accentuated by a slender aluminum frame (measuring just 4mm along the sides), and a subtly curved rear metallic cover for improved ergonomics, the Vibe P1 exudes exquisite craftsmanship. The Vibe P1m, on the other hand, features 4000mAh battery with a quick charge function which allows users to get a quick power boost when they are in a hurry.
The Vibe P1m has splash-proof capability via a nano-coating technology. These, coupled with a powerful MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor and a 5-inch HD screen, make the Vibe P1m an exceptional value-for-money device.
The Vibe P1 is available in Platinum and Graphite Grey. The P1m is available in Onyx Black and Pearl White.
