This is in light of Samsung’s recall of all Galaxy Note 7 sold to the public due to reported incidents of exploding and catching fire.

In a memorandum released on Monday, Sept. 26, CAAP also advised operators to prohibit passengers from keeping the device model in their checked-in baggage.

Passengers must carry their Galaxy Note 7 with them “where an incident can be immediately mitigated,” the aviation authority said.

“Operators are endeavored to check their international destinations advisories on the carriage and use of said device,” it added.

The Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, and Cebu Pacific have earlier advised their passengers that using and charging of such device are prohibited on board all their flights. ? PNA
