Sinulog?s colors come alive with Oppo F1s selfie smartphone

By Abraham Acosta

The ?Sinulog? weekend in Cebu bursts with colors that test any smartphone?s capabilities. While red and yellow are the predominant colors, owing to the colors of the Sto. Nino?s dress which symbolize faith and hope, the variety of colors during Sinulog is overwhelming.

The Oppo F1s selfie smartphone performed superbly, capturing the vibrant colors of the Sinulog as well as the people in Cebu celebrating and dancing in the streets.

The main feature of the F1s is its 16MP front camera that can turn any novice into a selfie expert with a few clicks of the screen. With a 1/3.1-inch sensor and an F/2.0 aperture, anyone can take natural-looking selfies or apply the various built-in filters and Beautify 4.0 to enhance an already beautiful or handsome you.

It doesn?t take a photo expert to take wonderful selfies; anyone can be a selfie expert with the Oppo F1s, allowing one to take various selfies during the street parade with the contingents and floats as background.

The Oppo F1s also vividly captures the mash-up of Sinulog colors with its 13-MP rear camera, which is billed to get ?wonderful night shots?. We tested the 1/3.06 sensor, which Oppo claims maximizes light sensitivity to allow wonderful nighttime performance. We were not disappointed. A dusk shot of people leaving the Sinulog venue shows a picture ?brighter? than reality.

Late at night, we again tested the rear camera and obtained a clear and crisp image of Fuente Osme?a, the landmark circular park in the middle of the city, and its gushing fountain as well as the colorful and bright lights of buildings surrounding it.

Tinkering with the Oppo F1s cameras will leave one with hundreds, if not thousands of pictures, stored in the built-in 32 GB (expandable to 128 GB) storage media. It?s a good thing that the Oppo F1s allows a dual-SIM LTE connectivity that ensures uploads to Facebook, Instragram or Snapchat are a breeze.

The dual-SIM LTE connectivity also came in handy when all telecom networks shut down communications in Cebu City and surrounding areas during the Sinulog for security purposes. The networks did not shut down at the same time, so we were able to upload photos through LTE using the available network connection.

The phone also features a MT6750 octa-core 64-bit processor for fast processing and Touch Access, a fingerprint reader to access both the home page or apps configured to launch when you touch the fingerprint sensor.

#OppoF1sSinulog, the event organized by Oppo, tested the limits of the Oppo F1s. For its price point of around P13,000, Oppo F1s performed wonderfully and without glitches.
