Canon focusing more on mirror-less cameras as it marks 20th year in PH

Tokyo-headquartered Canon recently marked its 80th year anniversary and its 20th year in the Philippines during ceremonies last August 22 at the re-opened Resorts World in Pasay City.

To highlight these twin milestones, the company will be introducing new products soon to suit the needs of its consumers in the Philippines. These include the launch of two new powerful cameras in its product series, such as the Canon 6D Mark II and the Canon 200D, company officials said.

“Wait for exciting events and products that will give Filipinos more reasons to smile,? Canon Marketing Philippines Inc. (CMPI) president and CEO Kazuhiro Ozawa said during the event, expressing profuse thanks to Filipinos for their strong support. ?Without this support, we would be unable to survive.”

As Canon marks its eight decades of experience in digital imaging leveraging the latest advancements in technology, it “continues to be leading service provider of digital imaging solutions around the world,? Ozawa said.

The Japanese tech titan promised “to push further and continue to innovate, and cultivate creative ways of bringing delight to their customers.”

“We all know how a simple smile can go a long way, take you to places, and make a difference in someone’s day. Amidst all the challenges that surround us, a smile could easily create a happy disposition that leads to a positive and encouraging environment that we we all aspire for,” Ozawa said.

During the event, the company also announced several activities lined up, including the much-awaited Canon PhotoMarathon to be held on?October 21. The company will also hold a Technology and Solutions Expo, Leadership and Productivity Workshops and conduct of a Thematic Workshops on photography focused on food, fashion and beauty, art, and landscape.

“We are excited to share all these things with our Filipino customers as we continue to help them celebrate their passions, hone their skills, improve their lives at the capacity of our Canon technology ? ultimately carrying out our mission of bringing them delight all the time,” said Ozawa.

In a separate interview, CMPI director for Office Imaging Products Vincent T. Sanchez said besides their physical products, they also offer software, document, and printing solutions for corporate clients.??These solutions will make them safe, more efficient, and more productive,? he said.

Sanchez noted Filipinos’ love for photography, saying they are focusing on the mirror-less cameras. “It is a high-growth area right now, and we will continue to develop more cameras for different clients.”

Established in 1937, Canon set shop in the Philippines in December 1996 as the Japanese brand extended its reach across the world.
