Oppo PH unboxes A71 smartphone with 8-core chip and new UI design

Bragging an 8-core CPU and the latest Color OS 3.1 UI, Oppo Philippines has introduced the A71 in an intimate media gathering held at Cafe 1771 in El Pueblo, Ortigas complex in Pasig City.

The A71 projects a 5.2-inch IPS HD screen in a uni-body design, matched with scratch-resistant glass, glossy edges, and improved grip on the back cover for premium feel. It weighs 137g and measures 7.6mm in thickness.

Encapsulating a 3GB RAM and an 8-core CPU, this handset ensures smooth operations in using the split-screen feature to run two apps at the same time for multi-tasking activities. To back up this capability, the A71 enhances its Android-based ColorOS, which now carries the latest 7.1.1 version.

The China-based smartphone company steps up the camera optics of A71’s 13-megapixel camera with a 1/3.06-inch sensor size for better light sensitivity, which includes multi-frame “de-noising” technology to avoid grainy images in low-light conditions. The 5-megapixel front camera, on the other hand, is equipped with bigger 1.4 µm pixel for more detailed selfies.

In the camera section, the A71 integrates an expert mode where users can modify the white balance, exposure level, ISO, shutter speed, and focus point. It also allows users to capture in Ultra-HD mode for 52-megapixel photos.

Carrying a Black and Gold variations, the Oppo A71 is priced at P8,990 boasting a 16GB storage memory, 3,000mAh battery, and slots for two SIM cards and a microSD expansion card.
