Sitel PH exec named PMAP’s 2017 ‘People Manager of the Year’

The People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) recently feted the country’s best people managers and companies at their 41st annual PMAP Awards Night.

Taking home the coveted award of “People Manager of the Year” for 2017 is Haidee Enriquez from global outsourcing company Sitel Philippines.

The award honors the HR practitioner who has modeled the strategic role of human resources through exceptional people initiatives and programs that have made significant contributions to the development of the HR profession.

Enriquez stood out for her exceptional track record in HR management and deft strategy of integrating best HR practices with business operations.

Enriquez is one of the few HR professionals who successfully shifted careers. She is currently Sitel’s vice president for operations and heads the company’s expansion projects in Central Philippines, and handling four global accounts for Sitel.

“Sitel heartily congratulates Haidee Enriquez on this well-deserved honor. She is a wonderful person with excellent values and truly deserving of this recognition,” said Laurent Uberti, Acticall Sitel Group president and chief executive officer.

Enriquez championed the development of Sitel in Puerto Princesa, making the company the first BPO in Palawan. And in just one year, Sitel in Palawan has become the biggest direct employer in the city with over 1,000 full-time employees.

“I find challenge and a sense of purpose in start-up business situations. More than the jobs that have been created, I am proud to have this opportunity to promote inclusive growth and in changing the lives of Filipinos and the communities in which they live,” Haidee shared.

With over 15 years of industry experience, Enriquez honed her HR and frontline operations management skills in a diverse range of service-oriented industries.

She is an expert at mentoring and developing high-performing cross-cultural teams, and achieving growth and stability in diverse operating environments.

“Haidee Enriquez was recognized for successfully straddling leadership roles in both HR and Operations,” according to Ed Chua, PMAP chairman of the Board of Judges.

“Her contributions to the HR profession are invaluable in showing the importance people management can have on an organization and its operations. Sitel Philippines deserves recognition for nurturing its employees and giving a seasoned leader like Haidee, the opportunities to fully utilize her skills.”

Alongside her strong business agenda, Enriquez has also given of her time and talent to various socio-civic programs. Through her efforts, Sitel Palawan actively supports the DOLE’s JobStart and English communications training programs, Jobspot Career Expo, and University partnerships.
