Oppo PH intros A83 smartphone with ‘AI Beauty’ technology

Smartphone manufacturer Oppo has opened the year with the local launch of its new “entry-midrange” model — the Oppo A83.

Oppo Philippines executives show off the new A83 smartphone during the company’s product launch on Jan. 26 in Taguig City

The Oppo A83 includes an “AI Beauty” technology on its 8-megapixel front camera. This can detect more than 200 facial recognition spots for a more personalized beautification based on the user’s facial traits.

The 5.7-inch HD+ full screen display (18:9 ratio) smartphone is geared up with a 2.5 GHz octa-core processor accompanied with 3 GB of RAM. The device’s security is supported with a 0.32-second facial unlock technology.

The Oppo A83 is juiced up with an above average 3,180 mAh of battery life. It can go up to 13.5 hours, as company tests have shown. The device is also powered through a fast-charging 2A capability.

“Our Oppo A83 brings the best value any smartphone user can ever have,” Oppo Philippines public relations manager Eason de Guzman said. “For less than P10,000, we are confident that the A83 will surely make a mark in the entry-midrange smartphone market.”

This is the Oppo’s fourth smartphone among its series of “AI Beauty” and full-screen technology phones, along with its recently unveiled Oppo F5 series.

In the year 2017, Oppo ranked fourth in the global smartphone brand, according to a report from international market intelligence firm IDC.

The Oppo A83 is available in local stores for P9,990.
