Makati tech incubator seeks PH startups for pioneer contest

Cerebro Labs, a new tech incubator and accelerator headquartered in Makati, has opened its pioneer startup challenge this 2018 to discover promising entrepreneurs with innovative startup ideas but who may not have the resources to move forward.

“Filipinos are innately creative, and yet there is still a lack of opportunities for the youth. Our mission is to bridge the gap between creativity and opportunity in the country,” said Cerebro Labs planning and innovation director May Quizan.

She added that while the Philippines has many social problems, these challenges could actually serve as problem-solving opportunities for the youth.

The competition is open to early-stage startups which have not received any seed funding before.

Focused on technology-driven enterprises, the competition seeks startup ideas related to banking and finance, artificial intelligence, agritech, healthtech, IoT, e-commerce, and transportation.

Winners of the competition will be provided with up to P500,000 seed funding.

Aside from the monetary support, Cerebro said what sets their startup program apart is the intensive support and mentorship the qualified teams will receive from their full-time crew.

Composed of professionals with more than 100 years of combined experience in both public and private sector, Cerebro Labs aspires to be the next center for innovation in Manila.

“Our full-time team have diverse expertise – engineering, law, finance, marketing and so on. They were also trained and immersed in Silicon Valley. Our team will not just help you launch your startup but will also guide you as you grow and succeed,” Quizan said.

The selected startups will also be provided with up to P2,000,000 worth of support services such as free co-working space, training, and access to Cerebro Lab’s network of local and international investors, as well as corporate partners.

While new ideas and cutting-edge technologies are promising, Cerebro Labs said they also put high consideration on the entrepreneurs’ commitment and ability to sustain a project.

The deadline for the competition is on March 23. For more information on how you could join, visit You may also email
