Silva won the award for his work at 2nd Office, a Philippine-based company that offers a variety of solutions primarily focused on supporting e-commerce front and back office operations, startups, tech companies, accounting firms, marketing agencies, as well as Web development and design companies

Silva previously worked for a privately held company in the US as an e-commerce marketing director before eventually deciding to start a company that would offer outsourcing services to global clients.

His company, 2nd Office, currently provides services to some of the world’s biggest online markets — the US, UK, and Australia. The success of 2nd Office also opened up online job opportunities for Filipinos who make up the company’s smart and talented workforce.

“Payoneer has helped us grow our business by enabling us to easily accept payments in US dollars via credit card and ACH (automated clearing house) transfers, giving our clients an easy solution to pay their bills,” Silva said.

“It has also saved us money by giving us competitive exchange rates and enabling us to pay our US supplies via credit card using our Payoneer account.”

The Payoneer Entrepreneurship Awards was established in 2016 as a way to celebrate success stories and innovations within the Payoneer community, which is made up of more than four million entrepreneurs worldwide. The award is open globally to all markets and industries affiliated with Payoneer.

“It is our way of thanking as well as encouraging innovative entrepreneurs from all over the world to continue their amazing work of not only showcasing their global skills and services but also by empowering talents with job opportunities. We believe that Carlo Silva fittingly represents this new generation of online and global entrepreneurs. He is truly deserving of this recognition,” said Miguel Warren, Payoneer regional head for Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The annual awards include eCommerce Seller of the Year, Freelancer of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, Innovator of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year. Winning individuals are awarded $1,000 each to invest back in their business.

Among the winners include outstanding business people from India, China, Ukraine, Argentina, and Vietnam. They come from various industries and backgrounds ranging from SEO experts, outsourcing companies to apparel sellers, startups and some well-established companies.
