The cameras are also packed with Canon’s signature features such as DAF CMOS, connectivity via Wi-Fi and NFC capabilities, and interchangeable lenses.

Canon EOS 3000D and EOS 1500D digital SLRs are designed specifically for beginners, especially those who are used to taking pictures using their smartphones.

Aside from standard shooting modes, both cameras come equipped with the Scene Intelligent Auto mode which features artistic filters to help groom those pictures to become Facebook and Instagram ready.

“Although they’re very affordable, these are serious cameras,” said Jun Miranda. “And you can use them as a steppingstone to a career in photography.”

Miranda was among the professional photographers and videographers invited to grace the launch dubbed “The Moment Itself.”

The Canon EOS M50 pushes the envelope further. Ideal for vloggers, this model touts a mirrorless camera with the latest DIGIC 8 processor and Ultra HD 4K quality video. The gold standard in image capturing, Ultra HD 4K displays images with remarkable true-to-life clarity whether in photo or in video.

Its Vari-angle LCD Monitor makes it possible to shoot from any angle without the photographer having to bend down, kneel, or stand on a chair to shoot from either a low or high angle.

Meanwhile, its Dual Pixel CMOS Auto-focus enables the user to efficiently capture specific moments and keep the subject in clear, detailed focus.

The camera also boasts of Time Lapse Movie Easy Connectivity which allows the user to capture and create vivid time-lapse video scenes.

At the same time, its automatic transfer function allows real-time transfer of images from the camera to any smart device while shooting for instant posting on social media.

Its other features include the 4K Frame Grab functionality, electronic viewfinder (EVF), and flappable touchscreen monitor which makes it very user friendly.

“As a sports and travel photographer, I am more confident with action shots, shooting subjects on the go,” said Jijo de Guzman. “So having that kind of technology works a lot.”

The PowerShot G1X Mark III is Canon’s first fixed-lens digital camera that stands toe-to-toe with the brand’s line of professional cameras. It is compact both in size and weight, measuring 115.0×77.9×51.44 mm and 399g respectively.

“This the most compact camera I’ve ever seen,” said seasoned lensman Jun de Leon. “[But] it packs a wallop.”
