Schneider intros UPS product for business continuity of SMEs

By Espie Angelica A. de Leon

French energy management company Schneider Electric has unveiled its newest product for uninterrupted power supply (UPS) to deliver business continuity, especially for small and medium enterprises.

Yam Hong, Schneider Electric?s business development head for East Asia, explains what the Galaxy Easy UPS 3S is all about during its unveiling at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City on April 25

Launched on April 25 at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City was the Galaxy Easy UPS 3S, a 10-40K VA UPS unit on wheels that solves the problem for small businesses during power interruptions, voltage overloading, energy usage monitoring at cost effective rates. It also delivers the goods in terms of battery and storage lifecycles, as well as remote control usage in times of emergency.

The Galaxy Easy UPS 3S raises industry standards by boasting up to 96 percent efficiency in double conversion mode and up to 99% efficiency in energy-saving ECO Mode.

Configuration and monitoring also becomes easy with its intuitive display interface. Used in combination with Schneider?s EcoStruxure IT cloud-based and on-premise software, the product becomes even more powerful and flexible as customers have the capability to monitor and manage the UPS status remotely via EcoStruxure.

An IoT-enabled architecture, EcoStruxure allows users to monitor their energy consumption in real time and be aware of critical information to help them solve problems faster and more cost efficiently. It achieves these by giving them full visibility of the entire electrical distribution network and electrical parameters, thus enabling them to monitor and control.

It also has algorithms which provide users with intelligent recommendations to attain higher levels of energy efficiency for the enterprise.

Available in 10 models, the product is also light and compact, allowing it to easily take up space in data centers and light industry facilities.

Despite its lightness, it offers a wide input voltage window and strong protection against damage of critical equipment arising from power outage and upsurge. Since it is on wheels, it can also be easily moved from one place to another.

?You?re bringing the enterprise quality UPS down to the small and medium enterprise and making it affordable so that all industries are able to afford it,? said Yam Hong, Schneider?s business development head for East Asia. ?The benefit of easy installation, configuration, management, and maintenance, as well as enhanced efficiency, will be felt by each consumer who invests in it.?

The Galaxy Easy UPS 3S? other features include the following: an operating temperature of up to 40 degrees Centigrade, conformal coating for protection in rugged environments, easy to replace dust filter, common battery sharing for two UPS units, a powerful charger that eliminates the external charger, easy service access via the magnetic front panel, and an Easy Loop test which verifies UPS performance without the need for a load bank.

Aside from data centers, its range of applications include computer rooms in small and medium businesses, shopping malls and supermarkets, hotels and casinos, healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications, broadcasting, power generation, and railway facilities.
