Dell PH brings out latest iteration of flagship XPS 13 laptop

By Rafi Koteh

Targeted towards tech-savvy professionals with hefty disposable income, computer technology giant Dell has launched its latest product in the Xtreme Performance System line — the XPS 13 9370.

The newest XPS 13, according to Dell, is the result of its efforts to continuously revolutionize and redefine personal computing. The many innovations contained within this product earned it the CES 2018 Innovation Award earlier this year.

?This device is all about the strength, the beauty, the sophistication, and the quality,? said Michelle Umali, brand manager of Dell Philippines during its launch on Monday, May 28 in Makati City.

The XPS 13 9370 is equipped with Windows 10 Pro and powered by the latest Intel 8th-generation quad-core processor, which makes it twice as powerful as its previous version. It also has SSDs of up to 1TB for quick boot-up.

In terms battery life, this XPS 13 has the longest of any 13-inch laptop. It has almost 20 hours on FHD and up to 11 hours on UHD (Mobile Mark 14).

The XPS 13 9370 is also the first computer to have the Dell Cinema suite of entertainment-enhancing technology. Developed in response to the ever-growing trend of watching TV shows and movies on personal computers, the XPS 13 provides consumers with streaming technology through CinemaColor, CinemaSound, and CinemaStream.

CinemaColor gives content hyper-realistic visuals with improved detail, sharpened brightness, and a wider and more vivid color gamut. CinemaSound provides higher volume, clearer highs, and enhanced bass. Lastly, CinemaStream is a software-based solution that prioritizes streamed content to deliver less buffering, more bandwidth, and better resolution.

At the same time, it further enhances the viewer experience with its screen bezel that measures at only 3.4 mm and InfinityEdge 4K Ultra HD display.

All of these features come in a significantly smaller product. The new XPS 13 is housed in an 11-inch chassis and is 24-percent lighter than the older model, weighing only 1.2 kilos.

Heat is always a concern as machines become smaller. The XPS 13 9370, however, incorporates three measures to counteract it: Dual Heat Pipe, Dual Fan Solution, and the GORE Thermal Insulation. The latter being a material composed of the same silica aerogels used in the Mars Rover to diffuse and dissipate heat.

Aside from the traditional silver-backing and black carbon fiber interior, this computer is available in Rose Gold with Alpine White woven glass fiber interior. Both versions offer users a premium feel for their devices.

The XPS 13 9370 comes with the Dell Premium Support Services and is available at a starting price of P99,990 in any of the Dell concept stores and Dell?s associated partners nationwide.
