Ubisoft PH to hold events for aspiring game developers at ESGS 2018

Ubisoft will be conducting a series of events on October 27 and 28 at the E-sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS).

On October 27, “The Dev Series” features talks from game developers who will share how they gained experience and grew since they joined Ubisoft Philippines.

On the other hand, October 28 will be a dedicated Portfolio Day where aspiring artists and game developers can showcase their work and get on-the-spot feedback from the team.

These events will be held at the SMX Convention Center, Meeting Room 7 & 8, from 10:00AM onwards.

In addition to these talks, fans will be able to watch the Just Dance (JD) 2019 Competition and JD Cosplay Showcase on October 27 and 28 respectively, at the main stage of ESGS.

Last year, Ubisoft Philippines held a portfolio day and a live art demo. This ESGS, they will be featuring talks on Art, Level Design, and Game Testing. Starting The Dev Series,

Ubisoft’s game testers will share their experience since working on Assassin’s Creed Origins, For Honor and Skull & Bones, focusing on the skills needed to be part of the team.

This will be followed by Ubisoft’s level designer, who was part of the global Assassin’s Creed Odyssey team, highlighting how they create the best experiences for the players.

The last part of the talk will be a panel interview with Ubisoft’s 3D artists who have worked on Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered, The Crew 2, and For Honor. They will go into detail about the challenges they faced on their journey to Ubisoft, and their growth after becoming part of the team.

During the Portfolio Day, Ubisoft Philippines artists, programmers, animators, and game testers will give their feedback on aspiring developers’ portfolios and games.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their CVs and portfolios as Ubisoft recruiters will be present throughout these events to receive applications.

“Ubisoft has been able to identify incredible talent in the Philippines, and with such a dynamic gaming industry, the talent here will only get stronger. Our mission is to support this growth by sharing our expertise in making high-quality games,” said Chip Go, studio manager of Ubisoft Philippines.
