Starmobile unveils cheapest LTE smartphone in PH at P2,988

Homegrown tech firm Starmbile has introduced what it said is the most affordable LTE smartphone in the Philippines – the Starmobile Play Click LTE.

The Starmobile Play Click, which runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition, is available in Starmobile stores, kiosks, and authorized resellers at an introductory price of P2,988.

“This is the definitive LTE smartphone for all,” said Starmobile sales and marketing head Ardie Balderrama. “Coupled with Smart’s high-speed LTE network, our users can enjoy the best gaming, surfing, and video streaming experience nationwide.”

Google’s Android “Go edition” operating system is designed to deliver the smoothest smartphone experience on entry-level specs. The global software company developed special Go edition apps that are designed to maximize space, battery, and processor power.

Another bonus feature of the Play Click LTE is that it comes with a free TNT SIM with 15 days of free access to either Facebook, Instagram, Clash of Clans, or WattPad (up to 200MB per day). Users simply need to text UROWN to 4545 using the included SIM.

The Starmobile Play Click LTE also comes with free Internet access via the pre-installed freenet app and is also ready to take on next-generation calling technologies such as Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice Over WiFi (VoWiFi).
