Acronis taps iSN as local distributor of data protection solutions

Global technology company Acronis has announced its partnership with iSecure Networks (ISN), a distributor of cybersecurity products in the Philippines, to deliver data protection solutions for on-premise and cloud environments.

Acronis general manager for channels in Asia Pacific Maxim Mitrokhin at the launch of the partnership between Acronis and ISN at Holiday Inn, Makati City on March 6

The solutions are powered by Acronis AnyData Engine which consists of data protection technologies for a broad range of business needs and systems — whether Microsoft Windows, Oracle database, iPhones, or Android devices.

Frontlining the company’s cybersecurity solutions is Acronis Backup 12.5, a complete data protection tool for hybrid IT environments. Available in both standard and advanced editions, it prevents ransomware attacks in real time via active protection mechanisms that detect and block unauthorized encryption, restore, and recall the file more quickly. It is also equipped with backup validation and blockchain-based backup authentication and data notarization.

Though financial services and healthcare are industries most at risk of ransomware and other cyberthreat incidents, Acronis general manager for channels for Asia Pacific Maxim Mitrokhin believes that loss of data is detrimental to any industry, including creative fields such as textile and design. These industries may have lazy data which they might need later on, he disclosed.

“Anybody who deals with data, who generates the data, who needs to treat this data, will benefit from that,” he said, adding that several multinational companies had to deal with colossal losses because of ransomware.

Acronis’ data protection solutions also include the Acronis Cloud Storage for secure and scalable offsite backup, Disaster Recovery Service, Monitoring Service, Access Advanced  which secures and supports BYOD, Files Connect for integrating MACs into the enterprise, MassTransit which allows faster delivery and sharing of files of all sizes, Storage, SnapDeploy, Disk Director, cloud solutions for service providers, and the personal backup software Acronis True Image 2019.

Mitrokhin stressed that data protection is not only for enterprises but for individuals as well.  “More and more people are starting to use Internet banking, starting to be traced in terms of what they’re doing, etc.,” he said. “All these kinds of things can be utilized.”

The Acronis executive went further to explain that while modern technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) are now being tapped by government and business, they are also being used by cybercriminals whom he believes, must have acquired tons of data by now that they have to turn to AI to digest these data and use them for their criminal acts.
