Another midrange contender in the Philippine mobile market — the realme 3 Pro — was officially launched on Friday, March 17, alongside a mobile gaming tournament.

The new phone model, an improved version of the realme 3, is aimed at Filipino users who are relying on their phones as their main gaming platforms.

When compared side-by-side with its non-pro version, the realme 3 Pro packs a bigger RAM/ROM configuration, a higher resolution panel, an improved night capability for the camera, a much capable processor, and a faster charging capability that produces less heat.

At the front of the device, the screen borrows a lot of design cues from its predecessors, the realme 2 Pro and realme 3. One of the similarities is the dewdrop notch, which is pleasing to some users who are not big fans of large notches.

The screen panel, from the 88.3% screen-to body ratio of the previous realme 3, has increased to 90.80% in the Pro version. The resolution has made the transition from the 720p panel of the realme 3, to now a Full HD+ 1080p screen with a sturdier Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The back, on the other hand, based its design elements from the Le Mans track and racing, which produces a light-grating effect and an oblique gradient paintjob on top of a irregularly S-shaped pattern. According to realme, the body’s material is a 3D plastic shell one with double waistlines in the middle to improve the user’s grip and aesthetic pleasure.

The realme brand has also been making a name for their phones especially in the camera department. Although it has not made any efforts toward zoom developments, their camera innovations are leaning towards impressive night photography.

With Sony IMX 519 image sensors, the dual 16MP+5MP shooters of the realme 3 Pro upgraded the exposure adjusting capabilities of realme’s stock camera app. Now with the enhanced Super Nightscape mode, realme is leading the race against other smartphone developers when it comes to night photography.

Even in extreme low-light conditions, the images taken on the device has reduced noise and a definite exposure, while still being able to detect edges. The Ultra HD mode, meanwhile, incorporates their multiframe synthesis technology to produce high-quality photos from high-pixel image sensors. Video capture is also capable of Ultra HD 4K with zero shutter lag and an accelerated EIS.

To support the higher resolution panel and produce longer durations of gaming sessions ? and also noting that realme has inked a partnership with Mobile Legends — the realme 3 Pro will be powered by a 10nm Snapdragon 710 SoC with clocking speeds of up to 2.2GHz and partnered by an Adreno 626 GPU that drastically improves 3D image rendering and real visual sense.

Jacky Chen, chief operating officer for realme Philippines, said the company is keeping a keen eye on the booming mobile gaming industry in the industry.

“With the realme 3 Pro, we know we have just the right device to help them be the gaming pros that they truly are. The realme 3 Pro is finally here in the Philippines, ready to slay in any battlefield with you with its powerful features that won?t cost you diamonds,? said Chen.

Aside from a triple SIM and microSD card slot, the device also boasts a beast of a battery that secures power for an entire day or more. At 4045 mAh large-capacity, the realme 3 Pro can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes with the help of their newest version of fast-charging VOOC 3.0 flash technology. Intense heating is also resolved by the built-in 10nm silicon chip, mostly caused by graphic-intense tasks.

Out of the box, the package includes the unit itself, the 5V4A adapter and micro-USB cable, a SIM card ejector, a screen protector film, and a phone case. The unit comes in three color variants; Nitro Blue, Lightning Purple, and Carbon Gray.

The realme 3 Pro is priced at P12,990 for the 4GB+64GB version, while the 6GB+128GB model has a price tag of P14,990.
