Malaysia-based workspace operator Common Ground has launched its third work hub in the Philippines to address the growing need for affordable and flexible office space from the booming startup community and freelancers in the country.
The new facility, located at 8 Rockwell in Makati City, joins Common Ground’s two other workspaces in the country — at the Arthaland Century Pacific Tower in Taguig City and at the IBP Tower in Ortigas, Pasig City.
The co-working spaces brings a whole new perspective in communal offices with workspace rentals, a custom HQ for a small-to-medium enterprise, or even just a desk for freelancers.
By the end of 2019, the company said it is poised to operate a total of 10 venues in the country.
“At Common Ground, we believe the office should be more than just a place to work. As a member, you’ll become part of a wider network of businesses from a diverse range of industries and can collaborate with our partners and community,” said Lucia Gutierrez, Common Ground Philippines expansion manager.
Gutierrez, a former assistant community manager in Common Ground Malaysia, said the company plans to stay in Metro Manila within the foreseeable future and is open to exploring opportunities to work with other property owners.
Aside from a workspace, tenants are also provided high-speed Internet connection, access to business-class printers, discounts for gym memberships and other Common Ground corporate partners, complimentary refreshments like tea and coffee, as well as a front-desk staff and a professional cleaning service.
Common Ground will also provide an array of members-only business support services that include accounting, legal, courier, HR, insurance, graphic design, and others. There will also be regular workshop talks conducted by business experts, as well as happy hours for recreation.
For freelancers and remote workers, a Hot Desk has a starting price of P10,000 monthly for a seat, while a Fixed Desk is priced at P16,000 for a month’s seat, which is designed for startups and small teams. For small and medium sized companies, a private office starts at P18,000 a seat monthly.
“What’s inclusive in a private office is a ledge, the table, the chair, and the pedestal. If our clients like to add couches or lamps, they can. They can customize the way they want it to look like,” said Lia Broncano, sales executive for Common Ground Philippines.
“A lot of other developers are developing their own type of working space. They’re doing it because they’ve seen how big the potential is in this segment. And we are actually working with those who are not developing their own,” shared Michelle Perlas, Common Ground Philippines head of sales.
With stylish interiors and versatile amenities offered by Common Ground, freelancers are also ensured of global co-working access that enables them to work from any hot desk in any Common Ground location around the world.
