Lenovo unveils 2019 ThinkPad, ThinkVision offerings

Lenovo Philippines recently presented their 2019 ThinkPad and Think Vision lineup — five new laptops alongside a mobile and an office monitor. These are all envisioned as business tools to boost productivity and security while staying portable and capable of dealing with increasing workloads.

Lenovo Philippines country general manager Michael Ngan pointed out that technology has made it possible to do business anywhere. As such, he said Lenovo continues to develop devices that are both powerful and portable to help organizations “achieve maximum efficiency and productivity” in meeting today’s business demands.

ThinkPad’s latest
Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops — which are known for the iconic red TrackPoint, ergonomic keys, multimedia buttons, heightened security, and various intelligent features on top of its durability — boasts of five new devices for its 9th generation roster. They are the following:

  • T490 — This is equipped with an optional Discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics and a memory capacity of up to 48GB DDR4 RAM (2400MHz).
  • X390 — This is geared for mobile workers, as its battery powers 17.6 hours of use. It is partnered with a Rapid Charge feature that can power up to 80% with just an hour of charge. With its thinness measuring just 16.5mm, the X390 weighs 1.22kg and tilts its hinge up to 180°.
  • L390 — Its multi-tasking capabilities backed by an i5 processor with up to 32GB DDR4 memory and up to 512GB PCIe SSD storage. Its workload efficiency is coupled with an FHD touchscreen panel and lightweight at 3.2lbs.
  • E490 — This has the Intel Optane Memory capability and an optional dual-drive storage that brings in quicker and better performance.
  • E490S — This is run by the Discrete AMD Radeon 540X graphics with 2GB of VRAM and up to 32GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM memory.

The devices in ThinkPad’s latest lineup come with an 8th generation Intel Core processor, which is 40% faster than its predecessor. The devices are also complete when it comes to connectivity brought by various ports that include a USB 3.1 Gen1, USB Type-C, HDMI, and Thunderbolt but when it comes to security.

Only the T490 and X390 come with the ThinkShield, which the company announced in Q4 of 2018 with the intent of providing a platform that can secure the devices throughout their entire product life cycle. Meanwhile, for the E490, E490s, and the L390, a discrete dTPM 2.0 data encrypting chip is included.

“We drive innovation that exceeds expectations as we have strengthened our position as the number one player in the PC market and maintain this by persistently evolving our offerings. For the ThinkPad specifically, we will continue to explore new opportunities and technologies for employees in the intelligent workspace,” Ngan stated.

ThinkVision’s newest
For the ThinkVision display products, Ngan mentioned that from monitoring real-time data to creating impressive presentations for clients, the products are the ideal peripheral devices for businesses aiming to increase workplace productivity.

The ThinkVision M14 mobile monitor is designed for consumers who require an extra display while on the go, since it only weighs 1.3lbs. The S24-10, meanwhile, accent its 23.8″ FHD VA monitor with a resolution of 1920×1080.

The M14 is a mobile monitor designed for those who want to bring an extra display with them as it only weighs a mere 1.3 pounds. It also has two USB Type-C ports to make connectivity to various devices effortless.

The S24-10, on the other hand, is designed to project clear and crisp presentations at the office with its 23.8″ near-edgeless panel full-HD 1920×1080 VA monitor.
