Xiaomi rolls out Mi 9T Pro smartphone in PH market

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently released the Mi 9T’s apex version — the Mi 9T Pro — in the Philippines.

The device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset logging 2.84Ghz with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. Optimizing the game experience of users is the Game Turbo 2.0 platform built-in that drastically increases touch response rate to 180Hz.

Sandwiched by Gorilla Glass 5 housed in an aluminum frame. On the front, the panel is a 6.39″ Super AMOLED Full View display with a 1080×2340 resolution and a 19.5:9 screen-to-body ratio.

Out of the box, the Mi 9T Pro runs MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 (Pie) with 6GB of RAM plus 64GB and 128GB storage options. Unfortunately, there is no memory expansion since there is an obvious absence of a memory card slot.

When it comes to the imaging department, the dubbed successor of the Pocophone F1 touts a 20MP pop-up front camera module and a triple rear lens setup. The front camera, which enables the bezel-less design of the Mi 9T Pro, is capable of HDR shooting and can take 1080p FHD videos at 30 frames per second.

The rear lenses consist of a 48MP Sony IMX 586 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture equipped with Laser Autofocus and Phase Detection Autofocus for shooting tricky action shots and moving subjects for videos. The 8MP telephoto lens has an f/2.4 aperture and offers 2X optical zoom.

Meanwhile, the ultrawide lens can capture 13MP photos but the gaping absence of optical or electronic stabilization will definitely be felt by users. A noticeable difference between the Pro version and the vanilla one is that the former can shoot 4k videos at 60 frames per second.

The Mi 9T Pro retains the well-loved 3.5mm headphone jack with active noise cancellation for the dedicated mic. It is also NFC-ready and has a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector as well. Under the display, as a security feature, an optical fingerprint sensor is placed.

Powering the device is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with 27W fast battery charging, also known as Quick Charge 4+. Tomorrow the device will be available For pre-order on Lazada and Saturday at Mi Authorized Stores.

Color versions include Flame Red, Glacier Blue, Carbon Black, and Summer Honey. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant retails at P18,990 while the 128GB storage option with the same amount of RAM will cost P20,490.
