The event was held at Crowne Plaza Manila.

Sprout Solutions co-founder and CEO Patrick Gentry

Sprout’s co-founder and CEO Patrick Gentry explained, “Sprout has always been about impacting Filipino lives by improving business, and the way we want to do this now is by giving smaller businesses a way to focus more on strategic thinking. We understand how tough it is to handle more people, which is why we decided to offer Payroll for Small Businesses without charging until a client grows beyond 50 people.”

Primarily utilizing a software-as-a-service model, Sprout will offer these functionalities without any cost until the users or client prefer to use the entire range of services. Some of the highlighted features of the platform are its ability to process payroll with a drastically shorter process, automate government reports which are accessible anytime, automate to eliminate miscalculations, as well as tax and government deductions, all the while maintaining compliance with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Based on the 2018 List of Establishments of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), 99.52% of registered businesses in the Philippines comprise of medium-sized and smaller scale enterprises. Many of these organizations are unable to simultaneously process payroll with HR prioritizing skill and capacity building in their initial stages.

The entire adoption timetable for the entire onboarding process for the platform will take five to 10 days with the assistance of a team comprised of Prince2-certified project managers, expert payroll advisers, and product support staff. Sprout will also be providing a self-onboarding tool for the interface walkthrough, as well as the Sprout Academy, a more comprehensive learning management solution.

“We’re there every step of the way to help out with anything related to the payroll process,” Gentry mentioned. “The way we help businesses isn’t just about giving them the tools to work with; we also want to help them learn how to use those tools.”
