Daiso Japan releases new batch of ‘Hello Kitty’ beep cards

Daiso Japan stores in Metro Manila are now offering beep cards with Hello Kitty-themed designs. The limited-edition collectible cards will retail for P188 with load excluded, and will feature four new “kawaii” designs.

The cards were made possible with the renewed partnership of Sanrio, Daiso Japan, and AF Payments.

“Our first launch back in March phenomenal as it sold out only days after the release. So this time, we’re calling all Hello Kitty fans and beep card collectors to stock up on the new designs before they run out. It’s a great addition to any collection, especially as we commemorate the 45th anniversary of the iconic character,” said AF Payments marketing head Agnes Padilla.

Although the “kawaii” cards stand out from the standard-issue cards, they still function as a regular card. Aside from the three elevated railways — LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 — it can also be used on select bus lines including BGC Bus, Citylink, DNS, HM Transport, RRCG, RRCG East, TAS Trans, Lancaster New City, Bellefort Estates, San Agustin Transport, and even UBE Express.

Aside from transportation, the card credit can also be used for payments in NLEX and Cavitex.

Meanwhile, Daiso Japan marketing services manager Bernice Jayne Chioa-Bunuoan revealed their Hello Kitty-themed items are always sought out by buyers, making the move to sell the new beep card designs a no-brainer.

Aside from in-store purchases, the cards can also be ordered online through Shopee to serve customers who are located outside the metro or simply for people who find online marketplaces more convenient than a physical store.

Last March, only three designs inspired by Hello Kitty were offered. For the 40th anniversary of the Intramuros Administration, beep cards with exclusive art designs taking cues all around Intramuros were also released this year.
