Trends-Palo Alto Networks tie-up paves way for ‘Digital New Normal’ with Prisma Access

Trends and Technologies, Inc. (better known as Trends) — which specializes in identifying and developing tech-enabled solutions — has positioned itself as a dependable service provider in the digital transformation of various companies across multiple industries. In line with this, Trends has forged strategic partnerships with trusted IT brands. These team-ups have empowered Trends to leverage the best solutions to help its clients strengthen their IT infrastructures. For one, there’s a collaboration with US-based multinational cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks, which aims to bring the best of global technology and local integration capabilities to the market.

Trends is deploying Palo Alto Network’s Prisma Access, which delivers consistent networking and security support to remote networks and mobile users using a common cloud-based infrastructure. Prisma Access, one of the industry’s most comprehensive secure access service edge (SASE) has established its presence in over 100 locations located in 76 countries. Now, more than ever, the need for a dependable IT infrastructure is needed to cope with global emergencies that disrupt real-world workplace processes and operations. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly had this effect. Here’s what the Trends-Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access collab offers to help clients address this scenario.

1. Safe 24/7 Connections. Since everything is digital or going digital, connectivity is critical for companies. This is already a given or the “new normal” for most companies. In his book The New Normal: Explore the Limits of the Digital World, author Peter Hinssen stated, “A number of new rules will apply in the New Normal. Consumers will have zero tolerance for digital failure. They will expect to get internet access anytime, anyplace. Internet and connectivity will be just as ubiquitous as electricity. Consumers will demand fulfillment of their information needs instantaneously.” If this is “Digital New Normal,” then it follows that companies must be able to maintain this level of performance as much as possible.

That said, Trends has provided a full range of solutions and services that strengthen the backbone of a company’s IT platform. This is further strengthened by Prisma Access, which provides protection at scale with global coverage. Thus, companies don’t have to worry about things like sizing and deploying firewalls at their satellite offices or building out and managing appliances in colocation facilities. This means that the entire company network can keep functioning even in the face of emergencies. At the very least, it gives the company ample time to realign its assets and resources to better address the challenges presented by unforeseen events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. WFH-Ready Setup. The unprecedented global crisis caused by COVID-19 has affected several enterprises and small businesses. These companies have had to switch to remote setups. Many of their employees are now work-from-home (WFH) workers. Trends helps organizations adopt WFH-ready technology by seamlessly onboarding branches and mobile users so that they have access to all the solutions and tools on their respective companies’ IT platform. Having a virtual private network (VPN) is needed to keep your data safe and secure. Prisma Access meets this requirement, as it ensures the delivery of consistent security to remote networks and mobile users. All users — at headquarters, office branches, and on the road — can connect via Prisma Access and safely use the Internet, as well as the cloud and data center applications. With this, clients get the best-in-breed security for their remote network locations and mobile users without having to build out their own global security infrastructure.

Prisma Access can be managed in two ways: via the Cloud Managed Prisma Access (using the new Prisma Access app) or the Panorama Managed Prisma Access. Before getting started with Prisma Access, clients must commit to the management interface they choose to use, as they cannot switch management interfaces once they start using it. The Prisma Access feature support also varies depending on the management interface being used.

3. Clients Tagged as Tech Partners. Trends sees its clients as technology partners and always thinks about what it can contribute to further boost clients’ overall business strategy. In the last few years, Trends has initiated steps towards the transformation of industries to meet the demands of the new global digital economy. Ultimately, the revenue growth will be higher than the headcount growth as industries evolve to provide more complex services.

To help clients maintain business continuity during the pandemic, Trends is giving its existing Prisma Access customers an additional capacity to address increased usage at no additional cost until June 15, 2020.
