Trends-Palo Alto Networks union puts Prisma Access at heart of IT platform

If necessity is the mother of invention, then collaborations are its hyperactive offspring. Strategic team-ups are one of the driving forces of digital transformation. Service providers have forged partnerships in order to strengthen and enhance IT infrastructures of various companies across multiple industries. That’s precisely what Trends and Technologies, Inc. (better known as Trends) has achieved by partnering with US-based multinational cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks.

Trends specializes in identifying and developing tech-enabled solutions that leverage the best solutions to help its clients strengthen their IT infrastructures. It aims to bring the best of global technology and local integration capabilities to the market. Trends is offering Palo Alto Networks’ cloud-based digital security solution Prima Access to its clients.

Trends chose Prisma Access because it is one of the industry’s most comprehensive secure access service edge (SASE). It delivers consistent networking and security support to remote networks and mobile users using a common cloud-based infrastructure. A solid IT platform built by Trends that is protected by the cybersecurity features of Prisma Access meets the critical requirement of today’s digitally transformed businesses — reliable and safe 24/7 connectivity.

A solid IT platform built by Trends that is protected by the cybersecurity features of Prisma Access meets the critical requirement of today’s digitally transformed businesses — reliable and safe 24/7 connectivity.

That said, the Trends-Palo Alto Networks partnership puts Prima Access at the heart of clients’ IT platform. How does Prisma Access function in such a crucial position? There are very good reasons why it has earned that spot.

1. It’s always there for you. Companies that are expanding need to keep their applications and data safe even as it gives access to users in different locations. Prisma Access makes this possible by giving users secure access to cloud and data center applications as well as the Internet anywhere they may be. They get the same benefits at headquarters, branch offices, on the road, or when they’re working from home.

2. It doesn’t take anything for granted. Prisma Access consistently inspects all traffic across all ports, ensuring secure access to the internet, as well as to your sanctioned SaaS applications, public cloud environments, and data centers, and headquarters.

3. It doesn’t hold anything back. Prisma Access leverages the next-generation firewall capability, threat prevention, malware prevention, URL filtering, SSL decryption, and application-based policy capabilities. They provide clients’ networks with the same level of security no matter where users are or what resources they are accessing.

4. It remembers everything. Clients will be happy to note that all Prisma Access logs are stored in the Cortex Data Lake, providing centralized analysis, reporting, and forensics across all users, applications, and locations.

Bottom line: Prisma Access delivers protection at scale with global coverage. Clients don’t have to worry about things like sizing and deploying hardware firewalls at your branches or building out and managing appliances in colocation facilities.

Palo Alto Networks deploys and manages the security infrastructure globally based on what you have licensed. Clients have the following options:

  • Prisma Access for Networks. Clients can avail of this based on the total bandwidth they need across all sites. They can then allocate the specific amounts of bandwidth you need at each site. This secures traffic to and from branch offices to the Internet, other branches, and to headquarters and data centers over an IPSec tunnel. Any router, SD-WAN edge device, or firewall that supports IPSec can be used to connect to remote networks to Prisma Access. Prisma Access then implements a full-mesh VPN within the security overlay. This eliminates the complexity and operational overhead normally associated with branch-to-branch networking.
  • Prisma Access for Users. Clients can license Prisma Access for Users based on the number of users. It can dynamically scale in and out per region based on where your users are at the moment. This provides consistent security for mobile users whether they are accessing applications at your data center, using SaaS applications, or browsing the Internet. Under this, clients can deploy the GlobalProtect app to users (available for smartphones, tablets, or laptops running Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS and iOS, Android, Google Chrome OS, and Linux) so that they can tunnel the traffic to Prisma Access for policy enforcement and threat prevention. The GlobalProtect app also provides host information profile (HIP) reporting so that clients can create granular policies based on device state. This ensures that endpoints adhere to the company’s security standards. For starters, they are equipped with the most up-to-date patches, encryption, and virus definitions—in order to access your most sensitive applications. Clientless VPN may also be deployed to enable secure access to users on unmanaged devices, you can enable.
