That said, the Trends-Palo Alto Networks partnership puts Prima Access at the heart of clients’ IT platform. How does Prisma Access function in such a crucial position? There are very good reasons why it has earned that spot.

Prisma Access makes this possible by giving users secure access to cloud and data center applications as well as the Internet anywhere they may be. Palo Alto Networks deploys and manages the security infrastructure globally based on what you have licensed. Clients have the following options:
- Prisma Access for Networks. Clients can avail of this based on the total bandwidth they need across all sites. They can then allocate the specific amounts of bandwidth you need at each site. This secures traffic to and from branch offices to the Internet, other branches, and to headquarters and data centers over an IPSec tunnel. Any router, SD-WAN edge device, or firewall that supports IPSec can be used to connect to remote networks to Prisma Access. Prisma Access then implements a full-mesh VPN within the security overlay. This eliminates the complexity and operational overhead normally associated with branch-to-branch networking.
- Prisma Access for Users. Clients can license Prisma Access for Users based on the number of users. It can dynamically scale in and out per region based on where your users are at the moment. This provides consistent security for mobile users whether they are accessing applications at your data center, using SaaS applications, or browsing the Internet. Under this, clients can deploy the GlobalProtect app to users (available for smartphones, tablets, or laptops running Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS and iOS, Android, Google Chrome OS, and Linux) so that they can tunnel the traffic to Prisma Access for policy enforcement and threat prevention. The GlobalProtect app also provides host information profile (HIP) reporting so that clients can create granular policies based on device state. This ensures that endpoints adhere to the company’s security standards. For starters, they are equipped with the most up-to-date patches, encryption, and virus definitions—in order to access your most sensitive applications. Clientless VPN may also be deployed to enable secure access to users on unmanaged devices, you can enable.
The Trends-Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access collaboration is one that brings the two companies’ exemplary offerings together in a single suite in order to give clients’ IT platforms the boost that they need.
