Taruc?s Facebook page, which was deactivated immediately after his reported demise, is now back online. His blog is still online, as well, at http://mid-life-angst.blogspot.com. In one of his blog entries, he narrated how he narrowly escaped death when a heart attack first hit him in 2004 and again late last year. In late 2009, Taruc, fondly called ?Tarcs? by friends, took a six-month sabbatical from his job to serve as a volunteer in Zambia, Africa for the non-profit group VSO. His experience in volunteer work has been the subject of most of his blog entries and Facebook posts. He was even interviewed by US publication giant Wall Street Journal for its story on top executives taking sabbaticals to do volunteer work. Prior to Gurango Software, Taruc served as president and CEO of another homegrown software company, Jupiter Systems. He is an alumnus of the University of the Philippines Diliman. Taruc?s remains were cremated on Monday at Funeraria Paz in Araneta Avenue in Quezon city . ]]>
