Globe says Tattoo is tops in PH broadband

The Ayala-owned firm said that from 2007 to 2011, Tattoo has grown by an average of 99 percent per year in number of subscribers, and 82 percent per year in service revenues, surpassing the comparable average growth rates of its nearest competitor for the same period. The figures are referenced from company disclosures to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the period 2007-2011. The broadband business of Globe has likewise posted 22 consecutive quarters of growth with an average quarterly growth rate of 17 percent for both subscriber base and service revenues. A network test study of prepaid broadband sticks conducted by research firm Nielsen showed that amongst the surveyed households, Tattoo outperformed two key competing brands in the prepaid mobile broadband segment in speed and reliability. The measures included page downloading speed and success rates as well as page loading success rate. Part of the $700-million network modernization program of Globe includes the increase in 3G nationwide coverage, a ten-fold increase in data capacity, and the rollout of an additional 10,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables. Tattoo Player, Tattoo Explorer and Tattoo Stylista, which comes customized with offers and freebies to match a myriad of Internet usage habits. Tattoo prepaid offers include Tattoo Sonic, 3G broadband stick; Tattoo 4G Flash; and the Tattoo 4G Superstick, a personal WiFi device.
