A former official of the local subsidiaries of Lenovo and LG, Javier said during the launch held in Makati City that HTC Philippines won?t engage itself in a price war with other phone manufacturers. Instead, Javier said HTC will stick to its strategy of trying to hit the sweet spot between affordability and quality. For instance, two of the units that the company unveiled in the local market are the HTC Desire V and HTC Desire C smartphones, which feature the Beats Audio technology but are priced ?affordably? at P16, 990 and P10,990, respectively. While positioned as premium-designed phones, the new units both sport dual-SIM capability ? a feature closely associated with budget-conscious consumers. The new HTC Desire V and Desire C are also among the first entry-level smartphones to offer the latest version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich). For Dropbox fans, both units offer 25GB of free online space. [cincopa AoMAS4KCFjjQ] The HTC One S, meanwhile, is aimed at the premium segment of the market with a tag price of P26, 990. The unit, however, is the first to use an ultra-matte black ceramic surface, which is the result of a microarc oxidation process originally developed for use in satellites. It transforms the surface of the metal unibody into a super-dense crystalline structure that is four times harder than anodized aluminum, resisting the bumps and scrapes of everyday use. The HTC phone also takes traditional anodization to a new level, with a patented HTC process that creates a subtle and sophisticated light-to-dark gradient fade through the aluminium. It contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 1.7GHz dual-core processor that powers a 4.3-inch bright Super Amoled screen. Crafted from contoured Corning Gorilla Glass, which flows over the edges of the phone, the durable screen has optical lamination offering wide viewing angles. HTC One S also runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4, the new version of HTC?s user experience. HTC Sense 4 features new camera capabilities, enabling users to shoot outstanding pictures in the blink of an eye. Beats Audio technology is also integrated more deeply throughout all multimedia features of the phone, to deliver a more premium mobile experience. With an f/2.0 lens and auto HDR mode, HTC ImageSense technology delivers fast image capture at 0.7 seconds, even under adverse lighting conditions. Like the HTC Desire phones, the HTC Onbe S also offers Dropbox with 25 gigabytes of free online space for two years.]]>
