Brillantes Jr. and Commissioners Rene Sarmiento, Elias Yusoph, Lucenito Tagle, and Christian Robert Lim were joined by members of the Comelec Advisory Council (CAC) and the Comelec Project Management Office (PMO) during the inspection at the Smartmatic warehouse in Cabuyao, Laguna. Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) chairperson Henrietta de Villa and National Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL) Chairperson Corazon dela Paz-Bernardo were also present. ?We won?t pay a single cent to Smartmatic until we have examined and tested each and every machine. This is what we?re doing now,? chairman Brillantes told members of the media after the inspection. When asked for his assessment after the inspection, Brillantes said the machines were ?well packed and well maintained,? considering that the machines have been in storage since 2010. De Villa, meanwhile, expressed satisfaction with the Comelec?s preparations for the upcoming elections. ?I am impressed because it looks like Comelec is more prepared this time. They have personnel in tandem with Smartmatic people in the entire process of verification and testing of all machines,? de Villa said.]]>
