Google to hold two tech confabs, developer tilt in PH

Day 1 will be for marketers, webmasters, and entrepreneurs, with a focus on technical and non-technical presentations on Google products. Day 2 will be for university students and faculty, with a focus on Google-sponsored university programs and internships. Registration for the event is free through this link. On August 4, Google is also hosting GDG DevFest Philippines, which is a community-organized event that connects Pinoy developers to Google developer advocates and engineers. There will be introductory and medium-level sessions on best practices for using Google technologies like App Engine, Web Services, HTML5 and Android. Registration is free through this link. Finally, Google is currently sponsoring the Google Apps Developer Challenge. Between now and August 24, Pinoy developers are invited to create new applications using the Google Apps and Google Drive APIs. All applications will be evaluated and ranked by a team of Google-selected judges. On November 12, prizes up to $20,000 will be awarded to the most talented developers.]]>
