With a computer that talks, visually impaired people can do what ordinary people can do — surf the Net, send e-mail, chat, tweet, use Facebook, create music, or just about anything else. With the mall tour, the public can personally witness how the blind but computer-savvy folks do it literally with eyes closed. They can meet these blind achievers in person and listen to their computers that talk. The mall tour will be held at the Event Center of SM Center Valenzuela on September 22, 12:00 noon to 6:00 in the evening. Games and prizes are also up for grabs. The ?blind divas? will perform hits of Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Charice and more. The ATRIEVBoyz, meanwhile, will perform the hits of Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and One Direction as well as the classics of Barry Manilow and Richard Marx. A visually impaired flutist will also perform while singer-songwriter Marvin Ong of Viva Entertainment is expected to dish out his hits. The whole day event will be capped by a showcase of original compositions of ATRIEV?s blind composers. The talented blind musicians will demonstrate the creation of band music with the use of just one computer simulating all the musical instruments on can think of. As a prelude to the SM Center Valenzuela Parade of the blind?s musical fest, a photo exhibit dubbed as ?A Day in the Life of the blind? will be on display at SM City Taytay from September 15 to 21, 2012. The photo exhibit will present the day-to-day activities of a blind family, a blind office worker in Alabang, blind people doing computer hardware repair, a blind cook and a blind person trying his hand at photography. ]]>
