[/caption] In an interview with reporters, Cayetano said that while the Senate already conducts live streaming, real-time tweeting is more advantageous because the public can give their reactions immediately. ?Makikita ninyo dito sa Cybercrime Law, nagkagulatan,? said Cayetano. The lawmaker said the Senate should move towards empowering the people in making laws. ?And I think Facebook, Twitter, and of course, the traditional media would play a great part,? he said. The Senate will have to do its part to let go of some of its powers, he added. Baligtad ‘yon. Dapat, Senado tayo ng tao.? In the same interview, Cayetano said he will file a bill to amend the Cybercrime Law on Monday, Oct. 8, noting specifically that the libel provision should not just be removed but the felony itself should be decriminalized. ?Ako, nakikita ko na gamitin natin itong Cybercrime Law for two reforms: tanggalin na sa Penal Code natin ang libel at ‘yung proseso kung paano ipinapasa ang isang batas sa Senado. ?Maybe that’s also the problem. Maraming nagulat din dito,? he said. ]]>
