The training is free as well as transportation, lodging and food throughout the training. DepEd secretary Armin A. Luistro said the computer camp is aligned with the DepEd?s thrust of making education accessible to all learners. ?We thank our partners for this initiative that will give a glimmer of hope for our learners who are visually impaired,? he added. The camp is for third or fourth year high school students who are totally blind or with severe low vision. Candidates must be familiar with the keyboard or have computer background. They must not have participated in previous computer eyes training and must be able to travel alone to and from Manila. ?Equally important, they must be willing to share with the other blind the knowledge gained from the training,? Luistro stressed.
