Amadeus holds regional e-commerce confab in PH

Held for two days in Makati City, the seminar provided travel agencies a chance to see the opportunities attached to online businesses and explained how they could leverage it to drive revenue and expand their respective businesses. Brett said. Amadeus Asia Pacific vice president for customer solutions Bruno Des Fontaines added: ?Addressing e-commerce not only helps increase revenue through additional sales channels but it also cements customer loyalty by allowing 24/7 travel reservations and ticketing.? Among the solutions showcased included the Amadeus Agency Internet Engine, Amadeus Mobile Traveler, and Amadeus Mobile Access. Based on a study conducted by US-based travel research firm PhoCusWright, the Asia Pacific travel market is expected to reach $357 billion next year with 25 percent being done through online bookings. After the Philippines, the Amadeus e-commerce seminar will move to Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan with more countries in the region lined up early next year. ]]>
