PH plays host to int?l forum on ICT education

[/caption] The two-day forum showcased various ICT programs of participating countries, namely, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Colombia, Korea, and Mongolia. Participating countries also presented their best practices and future plans in ICT education. The forum concluded with the launch of the ICT-based Pilot Classroom in Paranaque National High School (PNHS) on Tuesday, November 20. PPNHS was chosen to pilot-test the development and management of an information and communication (ICT)?based classroom, as provided within the ambit of the Memorandum of Agreement signed between the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST). DepEd assistant secretary Jesus L.R. Mateo said that ICT will play a vital role in the implementation of K to 12. ?A stronger focus in ICT education is one of the goals of K to 12, which is currently being rolled out in phases in the public school system,? he said.]]>
