The STI National Youth Convention is an annual gathering of STI students that provides an alternative and innovative learning venue for students to discover the latest trends in technology, acquire the most in-demand and job-ready skills, and interact with fellow STIers from different STI campuses. With the theme ?STI Extreme: Unleash the X Factors in You,? the 18th STI NYC aims to empower the students with knowledge, expertise and values that will help them become more productive members of their communities and outstanding professionals in the future. The convention covers various topics that are highly relevant among the youth with the guidance of seasoned professionals and inspirational speakers from different industries. The first topic, ?Extreme Definition: Exercise Your Beliefs,? will be tackled by a veteran journalist and head of ABS-CBN?s citizen journalism unit Inday Espina-Varona to encourage the students to become participative, responsible, and conscientious individuals. On the other hand, STI College ? Bacoor instructor Ricky Bunag will highlight the importance of teamwork and strong sense of community through the second topic, ?Extreme Connection: Explore Your Network.? Lastly, ?Extreme Revolution: Expand Your Horizons? will be discussed by Jet Nera, managing director of SHINE-JGNera Training Consultants, to inspire the students to become lifelong learners and pursue excellence in all facets of life. The STI NYC kicked off last November 29, 2012 at the CAP Convention Center in Camp John Hay, Baguio City and is now heading to Visayas for another crowd of STIers. The convention will run until March 2013 with further stops in Cebu, Tacloban, Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Koronadal, Davao, Legazpi, and Puerto Princesa. ]]>
