A text message from SC spokesperson Theodore Te and SC Public Information Office chief Gleo Guerra said the 120-day TRO against the implementation of the Cybercrime Law is “extended until further orders from the Court.” The TRO was issued on Oct. 9, 2012. It will lapse on Feb. 6, 2013. Fifteen petitioners led by law professors, journalists, and some militant groups earlier asked the SC to maintain the implementation of the TRO. UP College of Law professor Harry Roque, one of the petitioners against the controversial law, said in a Twitter post that the suspension will ?prevent [the] chilling [effect] of the exercise of the freedom of speech pending [the] decision on merits of Cybercrime Prevention Law?. ? with reports from PNA ]]>
