World's first curved OLED TV arrives in PH stores

The LG EA9800 model is provided with a wall mount as well as the first transparent film-type speakers. LG applied its Four-Color Pixel system — the WRGB technology — for picture quality enhancement. It features a white sub-pixel and works in conjunction with the conventional RGB setup for deeper and richer colors. The company said LG’s built-in Color Refiner and Infinite Contrast Ratio complements the WRGB technology for greater tonal enhancement and optimal contrast levels in any brightness or viewing angle. Incorporated also in the TV is Cinema 3D technology with Smart TV capabilities. Bae said the latest product signifies a triple crown for LG in “world’s first” TV technology, which started with the LG’s 84-inch Ultra HD TV followed by its 55-inch OLED TV. “LG will continue to establish innovations like this,” Bae said, noting that after over five years of extensive research, LG was the first to attempt ergonomical design for human comfort, which has been recognized by international award-giving bodies such as the Red Dot Design Award. — Tom Noda ]]>
