Peter Mah, regional director of SanDisk South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and Hui Low, manager, product marketing management in Asia-Pacific, led the unveiling of the storage products in Makati City. Low said the Ultra Dual provides Android mobile users a way to offload and backup files from smartphones and tablets or move content such as photos and videos from mobile devices to computers. The device works minus the traditional ways of transferring files that require wires, applications or a wireless set-up. It only needs to be connected to a mobile device supporting USB on-the-go (OTG) to access up to 64GB of plug and play storage capacity. Citing a study by Multimedia Research Group, the executives said USB 3.0-enabled device shipments is projected to surpass two billion in 2016, up from about 600 million in 2013 because of factors on speed performance. Both of the SanDisk Ultra Dual and Extreme PRO series will hit local store shelves this March. The Ultra Dual USB drives are priced at P980 (16GB), P1,600 (32GB), and P2,980 (64GB), while the Extreme PRO comes at a suggested retail price of P13,500. ]]>
