Samsung raises stakes in PH tablet market with new Galaxy Pro models

pro3 Executives of Samsung Philippines unveiled the two devices on Monday, March 24, at the Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. Designed for “entrepreneurs on-the-go” who take their work wherever they go, both devices can also act as an extension of one?s desktop. The tablets are embedded with Remote PC features, a Hancom Office app for creating office documents, and a multi-function S Pen. Both are available in two color options of black and white. The Hancom Office app allows Pro Series users to create, edit, and access documents, spreadsheets, and presentations on the go. It can be downloaded for free in the Samsung Apps Store. Both tablets boast of a WQXGA Display with 4 million pixels for high quality resolution. With the Remote PC features, users are able to access their desktop from a Pro tablet wherever they may be. The 12.2-inch Galaxy Note also has a Multi-Window feature, allowing one to open four app windows at one tap. It is now locally available with a suggested retail price of P39,990. An accessory keyboard that can also serve as a cover for the Galaxy Note Pro is sold separately at P5,000. The 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab Pro is scheduled to hit local store shelves this April and price at P18,990. It has a 2 MP front camera and 8 MP rear camera and a 9500 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab weighs only at 331 grams and measures 219 x 128.5 x 7.2 mm (H x W x D). It is embedded with a 2.3 GHz Quad Core processor, 2GB RAM, 16 GB RAM and microSD support of up to 64GB.
