International IT-BPM Summit (IIS). IOS The annual event, which has this year?s theme ?Drive Change. Shape the Future.? will be held this October 12 to 14 at Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Formerly known as the International Outsourcing Summit (IOS), the conference is organized by the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and brings together high-level resource speakers, influential analysts, domain experts, and prominent officials from both the private and public sectors. The summit aims to present and examine pertinent global issues and emerging trends relevant to the IT-BPM industry through presentations and panel discussions. IBPAP senior executive director Gigi Virata explained that the refresh of the summit?s name reflects the increasing breadth and depth of the IT-BPM services and capabilities. ?The name change accurately depicts the full spectrum of services that the industry provides. Through the IIS, we aim to empower and equip all industry stakeholders to step up and take action amidst the robust growth and technological revolution happening in the IT-BPM sector,? said Virata. According to Virata, the IT-BPM industry is now one of the largest economic sectors and one of the strongest growth drivers for the Philippine economy. The local IT-BPM industry’s export revenues more than doubled between 2008 and 2013 at $13.3 billion, with no sign of it slowing down. The current growth of the IT-BPM industry, said Virata, further stresses the need to re-assess the industry developments and identify new growth paths to sustain the industry?s momentum. The summit will cover subjects on industry innovations such as the role of social media in business, enterprise mobility, the use of Big Data analytics in human resources, and the gradual shift to everything-as-a-service. Global industry delegates will also hear topics on country brand strategies, the implications of the upcoming Asean Economic Community to the industry, as well as the expanding services of the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) segment. Besides gathering new insights from different field experts, the two-day event will provide local and foreign delegates with opportunities to have direct participation in various group discussions and to network during business matching sessions with the most influential IT-BPM industry heads, speakers and panelists. ?The IIS encourages a participative environment and meaningful engagements among key industry stakeholders, discussing key developments and challenges affecting the IT-BPM industry. We hope that by bringing a platform of exchange among concerned leaders, we will be able to effectively respond and adapt to the fast-changing landscape of the IT-BPM,? said Virata. Last year, the summit with the theme of ?Unlocking Possibilities, Creating Vistas? gathered close to 500 attendees from 14 countries. It focused on the implications of the global power shift and how developing economies are paving the way for innovation and creating business opportunities. Touching upon topics such as effective management of a multicultural workforce, the recognition of IT-BPM Centers of Excellence, and the rise of autonomics, the last IOS uncovered valuable insights that brought new business models as well as high-impact management solutions and tools to the industry. ]]>
