The media event also featured Suraj Pai, vice president for platform solutions at SAP Southeast Asia, who explained the nifty features of the business solution that is based on SAP?s in-memory platform HANA. The executives said SAP S/4 HANA is a reimagined business suite that offers cloud, on-premise and hybrid deployment options to provide maximum choice to customers. ?Today, SAP is redefining the concept of enterprise resource planning for the 21st century. SAP S/4HANA is about uniting software and people to build businesses that run real-time, networked and simple,? said Poggi (pronounced as po-ji). ?When Hasso Plattner invented SAP HANA, we knew the day would come for SAP Business Suite to be reinvented for the digital age. At a moment when businesses around the world need to enter new markets and engage with their consumers in any channel, there?s now an innovation platform designed to drive their growth. This is an historic day and we believe it marks the beginning of the end for the 20th century IT stack and all the complexity that came with it,? he stated. The officials said new suite is built only for SAP HANA and fully leverages the latest in-memory and real-time capabilities of SAP HANA. The German firm said SAP S/4HANA was designed, they said, to drive business innovation with simplicity by connecting people, devices and business networks in real-time to support the development of new business models. SAP S/4HANA will also expand the SAP portfolio of cloud solutions such as those from SAP companies Ariba, Fieldglass and SuccessFactors, the company said. SAP said it has an established partner ecosystem that is ready to resell and provide services for customers wanting to deploy SAP S/4 HANA. In these industries, cost management and the time pressures to run critical business applications faster and more efficiently, is key for effective decision-making and improved profitability, said SAP. ?Here in the Philippines, SAP S/4HANA is expected to drive further efficiencies in strategic industries such as the fast-growing retail and consumer products industries,? it said. The retail industry in the Philippines, fueled by the rise of the ?supermalls? especially in Metro Manila, is poised to grow and account for a fifth of the country?s total economic output in 10 years as the business process outsourcing industry continues to expand and consumption spending rises. However, the software firm said this results in the creation of further complex challenges. These challenges include deriving real-time, item-level inventory across multiple channels, ensuring merchandising operations are in-sync with supply chain, finance and stores, and capitalizing on customer buying opportunities in real-time. ?With SAP S/4 HANA, the retail company can be expected to personalize every interaction with customers, improving customer satisfaction and profitability through agile marketing. This helps to prevent missed market opportunities caused by lack of visibility and inefficient processes,? it said. It added: ?SAP S/4HANA will assist in optimizing return-on-marketing investments through near real-time monitoring and reporting on marketing performance, which is a growing necessity driven by new levels of connectivity of consumers via mobile devices and social networks.? As the fastest-growing economy in South East Asia, Philippines? Consumer Products industry is another bright spot for the country. Euromonitor International estimates that the total consumer expenditure in the Philippines will grow at 5.4% annually from 2013 ? 2030. SAP said S/4 HANA would be able to increase planning and forecast accuracy due to sense demand, through speedier analysis of the massive amounts of POS, social sentiments, and market research data, thus lowering inventory carrying costs aided by improved and updated forecasts. ?Reduced out-of-stocks instances due to faster propagation of demand information through the supply cycle and faster re-planning can also be expected. This effectively allows for more frequent MRP (materials requirement planning) runs in shorter cycles, settling past issues caused by outdated information,? it said. ]]>
