interaksyon When it started, IntekAskyon was branded as the “online news portal of TV5.” Not anymore. Reliable sources said that while InterAksyon is no longer a news division of TV5, it will now be managed as a business unit under Voyager Innovations, which is the digital and applications development arm of the PLDT Group. However, the site’s editorial operations would still be led by media veteran Roby Alampay. He will serve in a concurrent capacity as editor-in-chief of broadsheet BusinessWorld. ?We believe that the above organizational changes will further boost and accelerate InterAksyon’s contribution to the [PLDT] Group’s digital pivot,? MediaQuest president and CEO Noel Lorenzana was quoted in an internal memo circulated recently. Through MediaQuest, the PLDT Group operates local broadcast firms TV5, NBC, and Cignal. It also has interests in the Philippine Star (51%), Philippine Daily Inquirer (12%), and Unitel Group (30%). Last July 9, the Philippine Star formally acquired 76.63% of BusinessWorld in a move meant to ?strengthen the distribution and operations? of the business daily. ]]>
